VINTAGE HEAVEN 12th Nov 2016 !!! at Cirencester in the Cotswolds

Once again I have a stall at Vintage Heaven!!!

It is pretty much the only event I do because it is EASILY the best round here.

Why ?

- It's for two great charities - Paternoster School in Cirencester and JDRF( the type 1 diabetes charity)
- It is a STRICTLY vintage and eco charity - no new stock allowed unless from a eco or freetrade source, and the organisers do ask stallholders to remove anything that doesn't stock to this standard
- It has a fabulous selection of stalls with great items and lovely stallholders
 - It is at a super venue, there is a fabulous café and a beautifully stocked organic shop.

.... and my friend Emma organises it and it is just down the road from me , we visit this café/shop regularly.

This was all  my stall last year

It's just outside Cirencester and all the details are at Vintage Heaven at The Organic Farm Shop

I'm also taking lots of vintage fabric 'y things , crockery and small furniture items - now I do hope there won't be any bickering over this sweet sewing box! ?

( I am also taking I'm taking a LOAD of my clearance things on Folksy see above - so LOTS of under £10 items just in time for Christmas shopping eh? )

.. and when I'm not sewing.... gardening and cooking !

So when I'm not sewing I'm gardening and cooking.

These are my outdoor Cucumbers

 ... and my courgettes ( zuchinni ...)

It looks like there will be a be a bumper crop of cucumbers and courgettes this year so I guess a few people might like this recipe. I use it every year and my Mum in particular is addicted to it .

1.5 KG of diced cucumber and/or marrow and/or courgettes
1.5 KG of diced cooking apples
225g of finely chopped onion
100g of Sultana, 100g raisins, 100g dried apricots, 100g finely chopped ginger, 50g almond flakes
1.5 kg of sugar
900 ml malt vinegar
60 ml Whsiky - optional

Spices  4 teaspns Mustard seeds, 1 teaspn chilli powder ,  1 teaspn salt , 1/3 teaspn ground cloves, 1/3 teaspn nutmeg

Bung it all in a BIG pan and cook for 2 hours . Bottle / Jar up into CLEAN STERILISED jars. As with all pickles whilst you may use straight away it is MUCH better if left for a couple of months.Great Christmas pressie too ....

ENJOY!

The Car Boot Vintage 70s Wallpaper is UP!

We found this wall paper a couple of year ago for £1 and finallty got around to putting it up! we have quite a few vintage bits of furniture now about the house favouring 70s solid wood and a fair bit of G Plan. This is a feature wall in our rather large L shaped family room/dining/kitchen area, the accent colours throughout being orange, aqua and turquoise.

We recently replaced our Dining room suite with a  G plan one , reupholstered by myself in a favorite Francis Price barkcloth. The large horse textile hanging is on the opposite wall to the wallpaper one. PLEASE NOTE my house is not normally this tidy !

Christmas Presents ? a solution

SO you need a present for your loved one - too busy? no ideas? ( guys it may  be cheeky but I'm looking at you...). For £25 to £40 you can get a bundle of cool stuff from me!

Buy some thing to put gifts in - I have bags ( from £9) OR fabulous Christmas stocking like this ( £9-£14)

THEN  add something to go in it !
Like my mice at £9
or maybe a brooch £4.50 to £5.50 - like these owl ones

Or maybe some fabulous bunting  !  only £15

As an example all the items above would cost you only £40 plus P&P

SO  that's pretty easy eh? totally OOAK and Handmade here in the UK
Have a look through my shops and see what YOU can come up with - or ask me for some suggestions.

(If you buy from both of my shops but want your items in one delivery I will refund postage to ensure you don't over pay :)

Christmas ... IN JULY !

Ok I know our Summer weather has been dreadful but making Christmas stockings ? ...REALLY ?

However if you craft to make a living ( well sort of...!) then you won't be alone. Lots of crafters I know are starting to think about Xmas and if you want to stand a chance of being featured in the Nov/Dec editions of magazines then they are looking for items NOW!

So I'm getting busy - here's some of my new Xmas stockings in a luscious vintage ruby red sateen ( 50s/ 60s) - if you like 'em let me know !

All together now..."Jingle bells, jingle bells...."

New Thrifting Finds!

These were such a find I had to share....

The Christmas decs ( 60's maybe ?) were mixed in with a load of modern decorations and the vase was found at the same charity shop ( 50's/60s) - £4 for the lot and I can't WAIT to use them
